I have a little more time tonight and I am feeling better so I thougth would look back and Think about the things that happend in our lives in 2004.

January was pretty uneventful. I was working at Comp USA. I made a trip to Monteagle. We mostly hung out here though. I think we also made a trip to Enterprise to Visit Mom Pat.

February was a very hard month. We had a wedding and a funeral. My cousin Elizabeth got married on the 13th .Friday the 13th seems fitting. I should be happy since she had 2 children with him but he is a total jerk and is mean to her. That was not the worst thing Mike's cousin and her 2 children were killed by a drunk driver. It had been raining and she was coming back from taking her husband dinner at their garage a few miles away when a drunk driver tried to pass an on coming car, when she saw him (he was very close) she swerved to miss him and lost control, went off road and spun back on the road side ways. At that moment a big wrecker T-boned her in the side, Killing her son Austin 4 and daughter Miranda 3 instantly. Becky died 2 hours later at the hospital she was 25.( If you look to the side you will see a link to a special dedication page a freind of the family made). I failed to mention that the drunk driver was not charged cause he left the scene and was not found, or that he himself had two children about the same ages as Austin and Miranda in the car with him at the time. Laying those three beautiful souls to rest and seeing the pain on Uncle Bob and Aunt Susan's face was one of the worse things I have experienced. Her husband, their father Greg was just a walking shell ,his eyes were like black holes. It was so heart wrenching looking at that one big casket that could not be opened because of the severity of the damage to the bodies. I will never as long as I live understand why people will get behind the wheel drunk and think that it will never happen to them. If you are reading this and you ever get to this point , I hope you think of what you have just read before you take your life and the life of others into your hands.
I also left CompUsa this month, mainly for the reason when I called to tell them what had happend my manager was cold and crass about it. ( I had perviously asked for that day off( before I knew) and he said no so he assumed I was lieing just to get the day off!)
April and Alan started dating this month.

March was kind of hard to we were still recovering from what had happened in February. I got on a kick that maybe I needed to work with children so I took a job at a daycare that lasted all of a week! All of the children had cought this nasty virus and they wanted me to clean poop off the wall!! I was like ok I am drawing the line!! Not to mention that that nasty virus was spread to me and I was sick for over a month! They were breaking some serious health codes there and I didn't want any part of that! If you live in the Birmingham AL area contact me no one should take their children there. I made a trip to Monteagle, at the beginning of the month and at the end also. Guess I was a little home sick after all that had happened in the past months. I started the Cancer Fundraiser this month. We had a spaghetti supper and I send out some letters to friends and family to solicit donations.
We got to go to see UAB play against Birmingham Southern and had dinner with Jeff. We also made it down to see the A-day game at the University of Alabama. (It’s sort of like a practice that is open to the public for those of you not from around here.)

This month was mainly focused on my fundraising project for the American Cancer Society.
We held a car wash, hotdog supper, and at the end of the month. My sister April moved out this month. I made a trip to Monteagle and a trip to Enterprise, and that was about it for this month.

This was a happy month. Mike and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary and my parents celebrated their 23rd anniversary. My sister Tina graduated from high school she was the Valedictorian. Although there was one sad thing Mom Pat’s cat Queen Elizacat died. She was 12years old. Before she died we sent her to live on a farm that was close so she could be in peace.

This month was very busy, to start out the month we had a Tornado! No damage here though. Praise the Lord for that! We spent some time with Jeff and made a trip up to Vulcan Fest. (The reopening of a landmark here in Birmingham.)This month was spent moving Mom Pat up to Guntersville. We had dinner at Uncle Bob and Aunt Susan’s house, packed Mom Pat and moved her all in 4 days. As our luck goes though the lights and water could not be turned on until Monday. (It was Friday) so she had to leave her stuff there and stay in a hotel here in Birmingham for the weekend. This is the month I found Kitten Little. She was such a tiny little thing. I had to bottle feed her for a while cause she was so small. I was giving Jackson a bath and I heard this really high-pitched squealing. I went out side and there was this poor little creature just lying there in the dark crying for its mother. I just scooped her up and put her near my chest and brought her in. She was a mess. It had been raining and she was covered with mud. Oh it just breaks my heart remembering it. She is great now she is a happy and healthy growing cat. We also had a family reunion for Daddy's side of the family. It was fun but man it was Hot!! We held it outside and we just about roasted. You know how those southern summers can be.

Wow another busy month Mike started his new job and the 4th of July all in one week. We had a fun time celebrating the 4th. We went to see the Barons play on the 3rd and seen an awesome fireworks display that was set to music. On the 4th we met Jeff and his family for dinner at Dreamland BBQ then we went down and listened to a concert performed by the UAB Band. It was all topped off with a fireworks display shot from Red Mountain.
We had another family reunion to go to This time it was my moms side, they are a bit more laid back. We had fun and again it was hot! We took Mom Pat this time and she got pooped early so Mike had to take her back to my Parents house. Mom got Lieutenant this month.

Tina came to visit this Month. Mike made a trip to Atlanta to do his fantasy football draft and I spent a week in Monteagle visiting family. I had a bit of a scare I went to the dentist and he took some x-rays and noticed a cyst in my nasal cavity. I had to go to a specialist to get it check out. Turned out to be fluid from a recent sinus infection, .So we were relived about that. But in that same trip I also found out I was allergic to cats!! And I have 4!

Moms Fire happened this month she had a small fire at her house. Apparently she was baking a pizza and the themostat in the oven did not turn off and it got so hot to ignite the pizza. Well from what I understand it started smoking real bad and when she went over to check on it and opened the door it went up in flames. She called us screaming her house is on fire and that she got out but couldn't get the cats and was tring to get to them . (Well let me say she left us a message cause I was dealing with another problem .) Mike called back and found out it was contained in the oven but there was alot of smoke. The cats were fine just scared to death.
The owners of the house went nuts and wanted to end her lease . But it worked out to our atvantage because we were talking about maybe getting her into an assisted living enviornment. You know blessings come in all shapes and sizes. We belive that that fire was a blessing to us. Moses had his burning bush and we had the burning pizza. I know that is a bad way to put it but that was kinda what it was like.
We found this great place called Greenbriar at the Altamont. It has 7 floors and is located in the historic / artsy part of town. It is perfect for her. On the first floor is a nursing home, the 2nd and 3rd floors are assisted living, and the 4th 5th 6th and 7th are independent living. She will be in the independant living part. It is great because she will feel like she has her independance but she still has round the clock care at the touch of a button, or pull of a string as the case may be. She gets free transportation to all of her doctors appointments. On Mondays they take the residents out to Wal-Mart, Thursdays they take them for groceries, and they have other trips through out the week like trips to the theater and to the opera. It is just so awsome and the best thing is that she has a view of down town from her window!!! I am jealous! She has got it made ! The best part : They take care of all of her needs and I don't have to do anything! I get my husband back I get my weekends back I get my life back!!!!!!! I am so happy!!!
Moving Day. We had been up till 1 am the night before and got right back up at 6 to start getting everything ready. Dad and Tina (mike's dad) got there about 7:30, and from then on it was trouble. Tina and I do not get along, and If you know me at all you know I am not one to hold my tongue or to be nice just because I should. Well right off the bat they start trying to run things so I just keep my distance and keep taking the beds apart and doing what I am supposed to do. Well apparently I wasn’t doing it fast enough so Dad had to come in to "supervise" which makes me even angrier. Finally I got it apart and I let him take it and put it on the truck. Mean while Tina is whizzing around like she is all hopped up on crack or something. She is always complaining she is in so much pain but today she is freaking Super Woman. Anyway they have this little wuss dog named Bubba. I hate that dog. So it just sits there and yapped while we were loading the truck. Finally we get it done and are about to leave and I manage to find a little "present" that Bubba left for me in the yard. So I am mad and I look right at that little mutt that dad just happens to be holding and I was like Thank you Bubba! And I went over and scraped the do off my foot right beside him. As the day goes on they get bossier and bossier and I get more and more agitated. So now we are loading stuff into mom’s apartment and they are supervising and making everyone mad. So mom just tells them to keep the bakers rack, (which was the last big piece of furniture to move) so they could leave.
Well I think I have failed to mention that all of this time we had Jeff with us. For those of you who don’t know who Jeff is he is a friend of ours who is "special". He has a big heart and will help anyone and always finds the good in every one. Well naturally being the kind of person I am, I am very protective of Jeff. Well they had been fussing at him all day long, but he never got mad or upset he just went on about his business. Well it was making me mad.
When we were done at moms we had to bring some things by our place and this is where the riot insues. Jeff comes in and sits down to catch the last part of the football game, Just like mike had told him to. Well Tina feels like Jeff should be helping and goes over and pulls him back by hi shirt and tells him to get out there and help Dad because he is three times his age. Well this just flies all over me and she is going off in my house saying Jeff is pathetic and sorry so she wheels around and heads out the door. Well I am right behind her, I am furious at this point. So I tell her hey you need to lay off Jeff, and she is like well needs to be moving his stuff., I was like you just leave Jeff alone and if you need some one to move our stuff you tell me! Jeff took his day off to help your not and us out gona treat him like that. She is like well We did to, I said well we appreciate that (very sarcastically). So at this time dad jumps in between us and Tina walks off. I was about to smack the hell out of her, She thought that I was going to back down from her like everyone else does well she was wrong. She Tina has been in prison for murder and thinks that everyone is scared of her but I couldn’t care less cause if she so much as lays a finger on me she is back in there for life. Dad seen I wasn’t backing down and jumped between us to stop her from going to jail. She better be glad cause I would like nothing more than for her to go back so I wouldn’t have to deal with her anymore. Well, when she was unloading the things from the truck she threw a table off there and it broke, she didn’t think I saw her but she looked up and there I was she was like Oh I am sorry it fell. Mike came back, he was at the bank and missed all of this. They left and Tina Called Mom this morning to apologize. Well later on that night we went to a place called Wings Sports Grille, to eat and I had a fit there also. We went in at 9:45 and got seated it took 10 min for a waitress to get our drinks another 20 for Jeff to get his wine and another 40 after that just to get the appetizer we ordered. Well I am mad so I flag down a manager and our food comes out well while I am eating I look down at my salad and there is DIRT in my salad! So I am Furious at this point and I call the waitress over and she is like I will take it and show it to the manager and I was like No I will show it to a manager just bring him to me. So I told him about everything again and he took 25 % off of our ticket. Saturday was not my day. After getting up at 6am about 1am we are able to go to bed.
Sunday
About 6:45 am the phone rings, It is Aunt Susan to tell us that Mikes Grandfather had passed away Saturday night. He was 82 years old, and in a nursing home in Elba AL. Apparently he died of a heart attack in his sleep. So now we have had to make arrangements for him and deal with this. It has not been a good weekend for me, so no wonder why I am feeling like 50 on my 24th birthday. Mike had promised me a nice evening and I am going to enjoy it. So I am going to go out for a little while and come back and get ready to spend a nice quiet evening with the man I love and maybe just maybe all of this stress will go away for at least an hour or two.
That is about it for September. I had my journal then so I can just go back and paste.

Pretty uneventful. We went to a football game and went to a masquerade ball at Moms Home and had a couple of Doctors Appointments. Mike had an exam.

We had Thanksgiving with My family .I had a temp job with the Women's Missionary Union. Our friends Chris and Leigh visited. We got to see Alyssa their daughter for the first time. She is beautiful.

Well I had a bell ringing position with the Salvation Army. Had a Christmas visit with my family. Spent Christmas day here with Mike and Mom Pat. That is it for 2004. It didn’t seem like this much when I started but I guess it was. I hope 2005 is a lot calmer. I hope you guys didn’t get to tired reading this.
Until Next Time
